MVVA has some fantastic landscapes in their body of work. I love how in most cases they create an environment that is much bigger in scale than the human form. This allows one to feel part of or incorporated into the landscape. Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day, and for me a few rounds of toast and a spot of rousing music on the radio is the perfect way to start off the day. UK kitchen appliance manufacturer Breville has taken those two kitchen favorites and merged them into one device – the Radio Toaster. Its smooth lines, matt black/silver finish and silver circular speaker give it a 1950s retro feel, but the AM/FM radio’s display is digital rather than analog, and it also includes some modern toasting innovations to help users get the best bread-browning results.

The system can store up to ten station presets, and an included antenna helps get the best reception. U

This stylish clock shows the abstract nature of time. It’s not a clock but it’s more an art object, it was created by Science & Sons. The Oblique Clock is made of maple, laminate, a clock mechanism, digital driver and a stepper motor, measures 48″ x 48″ x 5″. It’s a part of the collection of works by Science & Sons. By reinterpreting the existing elements of a clock face (hands and angles) this clock becomes a kinetic sculpture. I like the elegant geometry, each second shows us the fluid nature of time. Behind the clock face, the custom mechanical movements required to drive the piece were engineered from the ground up. Currently each piece in this series is priced at $3900.00 CAD. Time is money, isn’t it? Read more…

If you’re a homeowner, but also are concerned about this giant ball of rock we orbit the sun on, you may well have looked into green home insurance before now – after all, it’s a great way of not only looking after your home but also looking after the planet on which we live.
